The 2025 Genesis Electrified GV70 has freshened up, with the Audi Q6 e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQE rival arriving with a longer range, tweaked styling and new in-car tech, along with a revised price that’s now $6942 more expensive.
Now priced from $132,800 plus on-road costs (ORCs), the 2025 Gensis Electrified GV70 Signature Performance is priced a considerable $32,600 more than the flagship 3.5-litre turbo-powered GV70 ($100,200 plus ORCs). However, compared to its rivals, it’s $18,600 cheaper than the Audi SQ6 e-tron ($151,400 plus ORCs) and $22,100 cheaper than the EQE 350 ($154,900 plus ORCs).
Mirroring what’s already happened in the combustion-powered GV70, the battery-powered mid-size Genesis SUV gets a new bumper, grille mesh, matrix LED headlights, new 20-inch alloy wheels, new rear spoiler and relocated indicators that migrate from the bumper to the taillight clusters.
Within, the Electrified GV70 gets a huge 27-inch OLED screen that stretches across the dash and incorporates the instrument cluster and infotainment. The latter now runs wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is capable of over-the-air updates.
Beneath the skin, the battery-powered SUV gains a bigger 84-kilowatt-hour power pack (up from 77.4kWh) boosting the WLTP range from 445km to 462km.
Just a single dual-motor powertrain is offered that produces 360kW and 700Nm in ‘boost’ mode, or 320kW in normal driving, with 0-100km/h taking just 4.4 seconds.
Carrying over its 800-volt electrical system, a 10 to 80 per cent top-up takes just 19 minutes using a 350kW DC charger.
New tech includes UV sterilisation for the wireless phone charger, a memory function for the passenger seat and keyless entry that works for the rear doors.
Improvements to the driver-assist tech involve an updated autonomous emergency braking system with junction crossing support, satnav integration for the adaptive cruise control, and side parking sensors.
Genesis has also added an auto parking function that works remotely, while the Highway Driving Assist 2 has now been upgraded to offer assisted lane changes, when you tap the indicator for a lane change on the highway.
Available to order now, the 2025 Genesis Electrified GV70 has just one option – matte paint – that costs an extra $2000.
