Facelifted 2024 Genesis GV70 priced for Australia

Base rear-drive variant dropped in favour of an AWD-only line-up

The heavily updated 2024 Genesis GV70 medium SUV has landed in Australia with a revised line-up and pricing model.

The big news is that the most affordable rear-wheel drive GV70 2.5T, which used to sell from $70,500 before on-road costs, has been parked in favour of an entirely all-wheel drive line-up which now starts from $78,500 plus on-road costs.

That opening figure applies to the newly minted Advanced 2.5T AWD and marks an $8000 jump in entry price for the simplified range which now comprises the Advanced, Signature and Signature Sport trim levels with two choices of engine, each paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

As before, the four-cylinder 2.5T AWD variants output 224kW/442Nm while the twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 continues to pump out 279kW/530Nm.

The Advanced 2.5T AWD comes with a higher level of standard equipment to help soak up the $5600 increase over the pre-update model.

It’s a similar story for the mid-range Signature that costs $87,500, however in this instance, customers can opt for the V6 engine which drives the asking price up to $98,000 plus on-roads.

At the top of the tree is the GV70 Signature Sport, available from $89,500 for the 2.5T AWD and an even $100,000 for the 3.5T AWD – a whopping $15,986 price hike.

But all versions come with a 27-inch OLED widescreen infotainment, a digital instrument cluster and a head-up display, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Signature Sport gets restyled front bumper with larger intakes along with a double-mesh dark chrome grille, dark metallic 21-inch alloy wheels, flat-bottom sports steering wheel, bright Magma orange seatbelts and Nappa leather trim.

To improve the driving experience Genesis engineers have tweaked the suspension and chassis to better insulate the driver from road, tyre and wind noise.

The 2024 Genesis GV70 is available to buy now in Australia backed by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.
