MINI has unleashed its flagship 2025 John Cooper Works (JCW) hatch and Convertible ahead of their Australian in the middle of next year.
Both models are powered by an uprated 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine good for 170kW/380Nm – up 20kW/80Nm over the lesser Cooper S versions – and drive the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
The brand claims the 2025 MINI JCW hatch will spring from 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds and push on to a top speed of 250km while its rag-top sibling stops the clock in 6.4 seconds and tops out at 245km/h.
Whichever you choose, the new flagship comes with a bespoke sports suspension set-up and a high-performance brake package as well as an exclusive exterior treatment comprising a gloss black grille, JCW-specific bumper, plenty of red accents, JCW LED headlamps, a black rear diffuser and a centrally-positioned tailpipe.
Wheel sizes are limited to modest 17 and 18 inches.
Inside, the JCWs get a red and black themed cabin that includes sports seats covered in synthetic leather and multicoloured fabric with red stitching, a JCW Sport steering wheel and fabric-covered dash.
A powerful Harman Kardon sound system is standard, as is a large round 9.4-inch infotainment that gets JCW graphics and a unique ‘woo-hoo’ sound effect when the Go-Kart driving mode is engaged.
Other equipment highlights include a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and an auto-park feature.
Primed to arrive with the JCW EVs,
the 2025 MINI JCW hatch and Convertible will be on sale in Australia in the second quarter of next year with prices expected to start near the $60k and $70k marks respectively.
