Lightly revised models of MINI Cooper, Cooper S and JCW hatches and convertibles are beginning to trickle into local showrooms.
The upgrade – the second for this year – applies to both '3-Door' and '5-Door' hatches, plus the convertibles.
MINI has dropped two colours for the new model year – Electric Blue and Lapis Blue – and debuted a new, more aerodynamic external mirror design. In addition, the restyled front fog lights now feature an LED light source, rather than halogen globes of the superseded models.
Inside, the standard leather upholstery has been replaced by 'leatherette', which is not based on animal hide. Leather remains an option.
And finally, the touchpad in the top of the single-point control knob for the navigation system has been dropped. The knob now provides dial and toggle functionality only.
MINI had raised prices for the convertibles and hatchbacks in March between $350 and $800, depending on the variants, to allow for additional comfort and safety features specified.
