Major issues with software Experienced software issue. A module replacement needed and still waiting for the part after 2 weeks. Bought the car and had to return it the next day. The pick up date was delayed and still haven’t picked up 2 weeks later. We are still expected to pay for expenses like finance repayments and insurance on a car we haven’t been able to pick up

Unresolved radio and sound system issues I collected a new Sealion 7 Performance on 31 July 2025 from the Clayton distribution centre. The am radio did not work. I took it to the distribution centre, and then the Waverley service centre on 11 August, but neither could fix the fault. The service centre booked the car in for 11 September to repair the radio. On that visit they could not fix the fault. The am sound is still so bad on am it cannot be used, so the radio is not fit for purpose. A check of two other Sealions in the lot showed the same fault. I was told if I was not happy to go to Consumer Affairs. Not being able to fix a fault does not mean there is no fault. The car was sold to me with a faulty sound system, and it is likely the problem is common across the model. After this experience I do not trust BYD as a brand, their quality control, or their service.

Shit Car , shows 86% charged , but no power at all , waste of money only 3 months old and start having battery issue or fuse issue , no power in car as its electric , you cant even turn on the lights . its just waste of money .

Technology that’ll blow your mind! They’re not wrong when they say Teslas are a one of a kind type of car. They are polarising and you either love them or hate them. Before buying mine, I was indifferent, but am absolutely in love with the brand, the car and the technology. What will stand out is the tech and how much it makes your driving experience so easy and satisfying. The only downside isn’t the ‘range anxiety’, it’s the practicality of dealing with the recharge if you don’t have a wall connector, which is an additional investment. I’ve gotten by with a mobile connector which is a slower charge. If you’re not too fussed, superchargers help you get that 50% charge in as little as 20 minutes. At least I don’t have to worry about the regular servicing and costs associated with an ICE vehicle. Absolutely love this car.

This car is an absolute amazing vehicle; performance handling and overall driving is immensely satisfying: I’ve been driving the BYD Seal for a while now and honestly, it’s been an excellent car. The performance, handling, and overall driving experience have been great. The only reason I’m looking to change is that my family has outgrown the size — I need something larger to suit us better.

Car is good, aftersales service is non existent. The Xpower has a recognised fault in that at about 100kph it develops a vibration. MG China know there's a problem, but refuse to fix it as it requires major work, and is therefore costly. They are saying its a characteristic of the vehicle. I wasn't told of the " characteristic " until I picked it up. I expected a recall but it hasn't happened. They refuse to answer any correspondence. I would not buy another MG, although the rest of the car is satisfactory.
