Bugatti’s all-new coachbuilding division has begun teasing its first one-off creation that it will reveal later this week on August 7.
Created as part of what Bugatti describes as an “ultra-exclusive program of one-of-one cars”, the new model is said to be a “celebration of grace and elegance, rooted in the unique artistry and heritage of the Bugatti story, our latest Solitaire”.
Revealing the Solitaire’s horseshoe grille finished in aluminium that sits above a large carbon-fibre splitter (via Instagram), another tease shows off the rear body that appears to feature a coupe’s rear glass hatch. However, although other sources have suggested that instead of providing light to a second row of seats, the glazing will lurk above a quad-turbo W16 engine.
There’s no word yet on whether the new one-off Bugatti is based on the Chiron, or the latest $6m Tourbillon but it’s thought the former, although the French firm suggests the Solitaire model could even be all-new.
“Not simply customised, completely unique. Prepare to reimagine what defines a Bugatti, one singular vision at a time. Every curve sculpted with purpose. Every detail crafted to perfection”, reads the caption to the new teases.
If so, some rumours suggest the new Solitaire could be an ultra-luxurious coupe, SUV or even a limo to follow up the firm’s still-born Galibier fastback sedan from 2009.
Others suggest a hypercar directly inspired by the Type 57 SC Atlantic could be in the works.
Whatever’s the case, if it comes with the Tourbillon’s naturally aspirated 8.3-litre V16 engine and triple e-motors, expect the one-off to produce more than 1324kW of power.
Commissioned by Dutch car collector Michel Perridon, the new model will become part of the Perridon Collection once built, which is thought to be the world’s largest Bugatti collection.
More will be revealed in the build-up to the Bugatti’s August 7 debut.
