New look for Mitsubishi

First Australian dealership with Mitsubishi’s new corporate identity opens in Sydney

Australia’s first Mitsubishi dealership to adopt the Japanese car-maker’s new global visual identity has opened in Sydney’s west.

Mitsubishi’s new corporate look will be rolled out across its 200-odd Australian dealers – and more than 5000 of them globally – over the next few years.

The new-look Australian dealer network rollout follows the opening of a world-first Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance warehouse in Melbourne last July and the more recent announcement of a new Australian HQ for Mitsubishi at Adelaide Airport in late 2020.

Designed to complement Mitsubishi’s latest global brand slogan, ‘Drive your Ambition’, the new global visual identity design was revealed in July 2018.

As the first example in Australia, Paul Wakeling Mitsubishi Campbelltown, presents a redesigned exterior, new colour scheme and interactive displays.

Mitsubishi Australia says the “new high-quality retail environment” features the brand’s signature ‘Dynamic Slope’ exterior facade, as well as bold lines in black, white and grey with red accents.

Inside, a new floorplan allows 360-degree access to vehicles while interactive touch-screens are on hand for “customers to explore the Mitsubishi range at their leisure”.

At Paul Wakeling Mitsubishi, a 10kW solar system has been installed on the roof to offset to site’s CO2 emissions from LED lights that illuminate the building’s pylon signage at night.

Another environmentally friendly addition for the prominent location on Mill Road, Campbelltown (NSW) includes an on-site storm water tank to service the facility’s restrooms and irrigation.

A customer lounge and dedicated vehicle delivery bay are also said to ensure that “customers experience exceptional service across all touch-points”.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia’s deputy director for sales, Tim Hore, said customers want a consistent brand experience but individual levels of assistance and support.

“Our flexible new format, which includes the introduction of new touch-screen technology, in addition to low display heights that offer a clear line-of-sight to their nearest customer experience staff member or service staff, means we have more opportunities to support them with their research and vehicle customisation,” he said.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia’s Deputy Director for Marketing and Operations, Derek McIllroy said the Japanese brand’s new corporate look will eventually be applied across all of its showrooms, workshops, shopping centre pop-up stores and public website.

“We are very excited to continue the rollout of this new visual identity to other Mitsubishi dealerships and service centres across Australia over the coming years,” said McIllroy.

Expect to see a new-look Mitsubishi dealership open near you soon.
